Air Fryer Cinnamon Sugar Doughnuts

Soft, pillowy yeasted doughnuts puffed up in the air fryer, brushed with butter and rolled in warm cinnamon sugar for an easy no-fry treat.

Ingredients
- 300 g wheat flour
- 2 tsp dry yeast
- 1¼ dl milk, warm
- 40 g white sugar
- 1 egg
- 40 g butter, softened
- ½ tsp salt
- 60 g butter, melted, for brushing
- 100 g white sugar, for coating
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon, for coating

Method

Activate the yeast — Warm the milk and stir in the dry yeast with a pinch of the sugar. Let stand for 5 minutes until foamy.

Knead and rise the dough — In a large bowl, combine the flour, remaining sugar, and salt. Add the yeast mixture, egg, and softened butter, then knead for 8 minutes until smooth and elastic. Cover and let rise for 1 hour until doubled.

Cut out the doughnuts — Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and roll to 1.5 cm thickness. Cut into rounds and cut a small hole in the center of each to form rings. Let rest for 15 minutes.

Air fry the doughnuts — Arrange the doughnuts in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving space between them. Air fry at 180°C for 5-6 minutes, until puffed and golden.

Coat in cinnamon sugar — While still warm, brush each doughnut with melted butter, then toss in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until fully coated. Serve warm.
