Brigadeiro (Brazilian Chocolate Truffles)

Fudgy, rich chocolate truffles made from condensed milk and cocoa, rolled in sprinkles — Brazil's favorite party sweet.

Ingredients
- 400 g sweetened condensed milk
- 3 tbsp cocoa powder
- 1 tbsp butter
- 100 g chocolate sprinkles
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp butter, for greasing hands
- 50 g dark chocolate, finely chopped

Method

Combine the base ingredients — In a saucepan, combine the condensed milk, cocoa powder, butter, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt.

Cook until thick and glossy — Cook over medium-low heat, stirring constantly, for about 10 minutes until the mixture thickens, then stir in the chopped dark chocolate until melted and the mixture pulls away from the bottom of the pan.

Cool until firm — Transfer to a greased plate and let cool completely, at least 1 hour, until firm enough to roll.

Roll in sprinkles — Grease your hands with a little butter, roll teaspoon-sized portions into balls, then coat generously in chocolate sprinkles.
