Cinnamon Rolls

Soft, pillowy swirls layered with cinnamon sugar and finished with tangy cream cheese frosting. Weekend baking at its coziest.

Ingredients
- 500 g wheat flour
- 2 tsp dry yeast
- 60 g white sugar
- 1 pinch salt
- 2½ dl milk
- 70 g butter
- 1 egg
- 120 g brown sugar
- 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 100 g cream cheese
- 120 g powdered sugar

Method
- 1.
Make the soft dough — Warm the milk with 50 g of the butter until just melted. Mix the flour, yeast, white sugar and salt, then stir in the milk and egg to a soft dough.

Knead, rise and roll out — Knead until smooth, then cover and rise until doubled, about 1 hour. Roll out into a large rectangle on a floured surface.

Fill, roll and slice — Spread with the remaining softened butter, scatter the brown sugar and cinnamon, then roll up tightly and cut into 12 slices.
- 4.
Prove and bake the rolls — Arrange in a buttered dish, rest 30 minutes, then bake at 180°C/350°F for 22-25 minutes until golden.
- 5.
Frost the warm rolls — Beat the cream cheese with the powdered sugar until smooth and spread over the warm rolls.
