Classic American Cheeseburger

A juicy grilled beef patty topped with melted cheddar, crisp lettuce, tomato and pickles, stacked between a toasted burger bun with all the classic condiments.

Ingredients
- 4 burger bun
- 600 g ground beef
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 4 cheddar
- 1 red onion, thinly sliced
- 4 lettuce
- 1 tomato, sliced
- 4 tbsp ketchup
- 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 4 tbsp mayonnaise
- 4 dill pickle, sliced
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil

Method
- 1.
Shape the beef patties — In a bowl, gently mix the ground beef with salt and black pepper. Divide into 4 equal portions and shape into patties slightly wider than the burger buns.

Grill and melt the cheese — Heat the grill to high and brush the patties lightly with vegetable oil. Grill for 3-4 minutes per side for medium doneness, placing a slice of cheddar on each patty in the last minute so it melts.

Toast the burger buns — Slice the burger buns in half and toast the cut sides on the grill for about 1 minute until lightly golden.

Dress the bun bottoms — Spread ketchup, Dijon mustard and mayonnaise on the toasted bun bottoms. Layer with lettuce, tomato and red onion.

Assemble the cheeseburger — Place a cheese-topped patty on each bun base, add pickle slices, then close with the top bun and serve immediately.
