Classic Beef Burger

A juicy grilled beef patty with melted cheddar, crisp lettuce, and tomato in a toasted bun. The all-American favourite done right.

Ingredients
- 600 g ground beef
- 4 burger bun
- 4 cheddar
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 2 tomato, sliced
- 4 lettuce
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 2 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- salt to taste
- black pepper to taste

Method

Shape the patties — Divide the beef into 4 loose patties, slightly wider than the buns. Press a dimple in the centre and season both sides well.

Grill the patties — Brush a hot grill or pan with oil and cook the patties for about 4 minutes per side for medium, adding cheese in the last minute to melt.
- 3.
Toast and dress the buns — Toast the buns cut-side down for 1 minute. Spread mayonnaise and ketchup on the bases.
- 4.
Assemble the burgers — Stack lettuce, tomato, the cheeseburger patty, and onion on each base. Close with the lids and serve at once.
