Japanese Garlic Butter Steak Bites

Seared beef cubes glazed in garlicky soy butter with a splash of sake, finished with scallion and sesame. Rich, fast, and low-carb.

Ingredients
- 500 g beef steak, cubed
- 3 tbsp butter
- 5 garlic, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp sake
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 2 spring onion, sliced
- 1 tsp sesame seeds
- black pepper to taste

Method

Season the beef and heat the pan — Pat the beef cubes dry and season with black pepper. Heat a grill pan or plancha very hot.

Melt the garlic butter — Melt the butter with the sliced garlic until fragrant and lightly golden, about 1 minute.

Sear the beef cubes — Add the beef cubes in a single layer and sear on all sides, about 4-5 minutes total for medium-rare, keeping the garlic moving so it doesn't burn.

Toss in the glaze — Add soy sauce, sake, and sesame oil, tossing to coat the beef in the glossy sauce for 30 seconds.

Garnish and serve sizzling — Scatter with scallion and sesame seeds and serve immediately, sizzling.
