Masala Chai

Robust black tea simmered with warming cardamom, cinnamon, ginger, and cloves, sweetened and mellowed with milk. Comfort in a cup.

Ingredients
- 3 dl water
- 2 tsp black tea
- 4 tsp ground cardamom, crushed
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 3 fresh ginger
- 2 tsp ground cloves
- 2½ dl milk
- 2 tbsp white sugar

Method

Simmer the spices — Bring the water to a boil in a small pot with the cardamom, cinnamon, ginger, and cloves. Simmer for 3 minutes to release their aroma.

Steep the black tea — Add the black tea and simmer for 2 minutes until the water turns dark amber.
- 3.
Add milk and sugar — Pour in the milk and sugar, bring back to a gentle boil, then simmer for 5 minutes until fragrant and richly coloured.

Strain and serve — Strain into cups through a fine sieve and serve piping hot.
