Microwave Chocolate Mug Cake

A rich, fudgy chocolate cake made entirely in a mug and ready in about two minutes flat. The fastest chocolate fix you'll ever make.

Ingredients
- 4 tbsp wheat flour
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder
- 3 tbsp white sugar
- ¼ tsp baking powder
- 1 pinch salt
- 3 tbsp milk
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- ¼ tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp chocolate chips

Method

Mix the dry ingredients — In a large mug, whisk together the wheat flour, cocoa powder, white sugar, baking powder and a pinch of salt until evenly combined.

Stir in the wet ingredients — Add the milk, vegetable oil and vanilla extract to the mug and stir with a fork until you have a smooth, lump-free batter.

Fold in chocolate chips — Fold in the chocolate chips, saving a few to scatter on top of the batter.

Microwave the cake — Microwave the mug on high power for about 90 seconds, until the cake has risen to the rim and looks just set on top but still slightly fudgy in the center — do not overcook or it will turn rubbery.

Cool briefly and serve — Let the mug cool for a minute before eating straight from the mug with a spoon, or turn it out onto a small plate.
