Method
- 1.
Combine the köfte ingredients — Place the ground beef and lamb mince in a large bowl along with the grated onion, garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, parsley, cumin, paprika, chili flakes, salt and pepper.
- 2.
Knead the meat mixture — Knead the mixture with your hands for a couple of minutes until everything is evenly combined and slightly sticky, which helps the köfte hold together on the grill.
- 3.
Shape the köfte patties — Divide the mixture into 12-16 portions and shape each into an oval patty about 1.5 cm thick, pressing gently so they don't crack while cooking.
- 4.
Grill the köfte and vegetables — Heat the grill to medium-high and brush the tomato and pepper halves with olive oil. Grill the köfte for about 4-5 minutes per side until nicely charred and cooked through, grilling the vegetables alongside until softened and lightly blistered.
- 5.
Warm bread and serve — Warm the flatbreads briefly on the grill, then serve the köfte hot alongside the grilled vegetables and warm flatbread.
