Creamy oatmeal cooked in minutes right in the microwave, then topped with frozen berries, honey and almonds. A warm, wholesome breakfast with almost no cleanup.

Method

  1. 1
    • rolled oats1¼ dl
    • milk2½ dl
    • salt1 pinch
    • ground cinnamon¼ tsp

Combine the oat mixture — In a large microwave-safe bowl, combine the rolled oats, milk, a pinch of salt, and the cinnamon, stirring well.

  2. 2
    • milk2½ dl

Microwave and stir — Microwave uncovered on high for about 90 seconds, then pause and stir well — this prevents the milk from suddenly boiling over the rim.

  3. 3
    • rolled oats1¼ dl

Finish microwaving until creamy — Return the bowl to the microwave and heat on high for another 60-90 seconds, checking every 30 seconds and stirring, until the oats are thick and creamy.

  4. 4

Let the oatmeal rest — Carefully remove the bowl (it will be hot) and let the oatmeal sit for a minute to thicken further.

  5. 5
    • frozen mixed berries5⅓ tbsp
    • honey1 tbsp
    • almonds1 tbsp
    • chia seeds1 tsp

Top with berries and nuts — Top with the frozen berries, drizzle over the honey, and scatter the chopped almonds and chia seeds on top before serving.
